Terms of Service & Acceptable Use
Last updated: June 2026
1. Non-Affiliation and Independence
OverWatch is an independent software, analytics, and cloud infrastructure provider. We are not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with any third-party game developers, video game publishers, software creators, or their subsidiaries and affiliates. OverWatch operates as a completely separate and distinct legal entity. Any trademarks, service marks, game titles, or engine names used or referenced on this platform are the property of their respective owners and are used strictly for identification and compatibility purposes.
2. Nature of the Service
OverWatch operates strictly as a Business-to-Business (B2B) external web infrastructure and data processing service. By purchasing a subscription tier, the User acknowledges they are paying exclusively for external cloud compute resources, database storage, web hosting, and API processing bandwidth. OverWatch does not sell, license, or commercialize any video game modifications, in-game assets, or derivative works of any third-party video game software.
3. The Free Data Connector (Plugin)
To facilitate the transmission of server telemetry to the OverWatch SaaS backend, OverWatch provides a downloadable server-side software tool ("The Data Connector" or "Plugin"). The Data Connector is provided 100% free of charge, contains no Digital Rights Management (DRM) or local feature paywalls, and operates solely to forward raw data and execute API commands. The User's subscription fee does not purchase the Data Connector; the fee is applied entirely to the external web services that ingest and process the Connector's data.
4. Data Visualization and Telemetry (Type Systems & Info Panels)
OverWatch acts as an external data visualizer and analytics dashboard. The Data Connector passively reads uncopyrightable raw metadata, server health statistics, economy balances, and telemetry from the User's server. OverWatch categorizes, stores, and displays this raw data through various UI Type Systems and Info Panels on our proprietary web dashboard. The presentation, aggregation, and organization of this data on the OverWatch web platform constitutes our intellectual property and commercial service.
5. Payload Security and Authentication (The "Bouncer" System)
To protect the integrity of the User's third-party game server from malicious actors, the Data Connector employs a strict network security protocol ("The Bouncer System"). Any automated commands sent from the OverWatch SaaS backend to the User's server (such as scheduled restarts or economy updates) must be validated via a secure, cryptographic API Token or Webhook Secret. This security layer exists solely to verify the origin and authenticity of the network payload. It is strictly a cybersecurity measure and does not function as Digital Rights Management (DRM), nor does it evaluate, restrict, or enforce the User's OverWatch SaaS billing tier.
6. User Data Ownership & API Processing
OverWatch does not claim ownership over any raw game metadata, server telemetry, or player statistics ("Server Data") generated by the User's third-party game servers. The User grants OverWatch a limited, revocable license to ingest, store, and display this Server Data. If a User ceases their subscription, OverWatch will simply halt the processing and storage of incoming Server Data; the free Data Connector on the User's server will remain fully unlocked and functional, though it will have no destination to send its data.
7. EULA Compliance
The User agrees that they are utilizing OverWatch's web dashboard and API strictly as an independent third-party server management tool. The User is solely responsible for ensuring their use of the free Data Connector on their specific server host complies with the End User License Agreement (EULA) and Terms of Service of their respective third-party game developers and server hosting providers.
